I love traditional cross stitch samplers, so for this design I mixed the style of a traditional band sampler with another of my loves - Minecraft. The design has a number of objects from the game including swords, axes, leather, diamond, fishing rod and fish. It can also be completed in blue or red with colour suggestions for both of these styles, or pick a dark, medium and light shade of any colour you choose.

I'm really excited to share this little guy with you. This is the first plush pattern for Happy Bobbin and you can make him in time for Christmas. The little reindeers nose has a red LED that really lights up - just like Rudolph!

The reindeer plush pattern contains detailed instructions for making the plushie and working the conductive thread. If you decided you didn't want to add in the electronic components the reindeer plush would still be a beautiful soft toy. You could give him a red pompom nose, or complete the nose in a method of your choice.

A list of the electronic components required is included with the reindeer pattern, or you can buy the reindeer kit with all the electronic bits you need - you just add fabric and a sewing needle! The kit includes conductive thread so you don't need a hot soldering iron or any prior electronics experience.

He has a little switch to turn his nose on and off in his neck seam which is hidden by his red collar. All other electronic components are hidden inside the head and neck, so if you need to replace the battery you will need to unpick the neck seam to gain access.

I had a lot of fun making this plushie design so there might be some more plush characters joining the Happy Bobbin gang soon.
This jack-o-lantern pumpkin design has creepy glowing eyes that light up with the flick of a switch thanks to the addition of LEDs! The additional critters in the woodland series are all drawn up and ready for printing in three different sizes. I'm going to make the largest sizes into a quilt and once they're tested they will be ready for the shop.

The woodland owl remains available for purchase now in three sizes, or if you're waiting for the whole set there will be a bundle option available once they are all released.

Note: Final patterns may not be exactly the same as these previews.Metanoiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05585001609565808750noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8908907171770135148.post-35541914425050240192012-04-14T15:05:00.004+09:302012-04-15T11:36:25.310+09:30Three More Steampunk Designs

A little bit of blog silence. My apologies!! It hasn't been all quiet though... I got out my steampunk blocks and decided that 9 simply wasn't enough so I made three more.

You can find all 12 of the steampunk blocks in a new 12 pack collection which will net you a saving of $8, or you can purchase them individually.

Number 10 in the series is a partner to the steampunk cameo. The gentleman sports a top hat featuring a cog.

Pattern 11 compliments the crossed keys and features a hammer and spanner.

Lastly, pattern 12 features interlocking c-clips. If your not familiar with c-clips, they are used in conjunction with axles and gears to keep cogs in place and might be found in anything from machinery to clocks. I also like this design because of the shape made by the relief in the centre.

If you buy and use any of these patterns I'd love to see your finished projects! Please leave me a link in the comments.

Metanoiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05585001609565808750noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8908907171770135148.post-8199379674389732832012-01-31T22:10:00.002+10:302012-01-31T22:28:14.540+10:30Thanks Everyone :)Thank you to everyone for your support so far, especially to those of you who have purchased one of my patterns!

I'd love to see the works you create, so if you have completed a project or if you're working on something right now I'd love to see your photos. All those sittle curves and details seem to take forever if you are doing needle turn applique, but the overall result is worthwhile.

Pattern 9 (or pattern 1 if you'd prefer) is the cogs, or gears. This pattern has three sizes available in the download - a 5", 10" or 12" option, and you will be able to move around the gears until you have a layout you're happy with on your quilt block. A great idea for this pattern would be designing 9 or 12 blocks with slight variations and stitch them all together for a gorgeous steampunk gears quilt.

Of course, if you buy and use any of these patterns I'd love to see your finished projects! As this is still a fledgling hobby business it often has to take a back seat to other things in life.

To celebrate the support I've had from the people who have purchased items, visited the site and the blog I have discounted a number of products as part of our end of year sale. I'm currently working on finishing off the Steampunk series right now and hope to get the last two patterns online in the next couple of days at which time I will be selling all 9 for $30. However if you are after only a couple of the patterns, you might like to grab them now for $4.

Blog readers, purchase any product today and get 10% off your order if you use the coupon code: HAPPY2012

Most of all have a very happy and properous new year and I hope to see you all again in 2012!

Metanoiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05585001609565808750noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8908907171770135148.post-10886246337172830312011-06-01T19:08:00.002+09:302011-06-01T21:11:37.017+09:30Winner!Hi everyone. This little octopus is a little quirky, but if you have been following the Steampunk movement you will know it is a popular symbol.

The octopus pattern is provided in two sizes just like all the others and as usual is exactly the same pattern that I printed and stitched up myself so you can see what result you may get if you use the same methods.

Are you contemplating what you could make with some of these designs, or are you waiting for the whole set to be released?
